After earning a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts at New Mexico State University, Dr. Rebecca Castaneda graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She then completed a yearlong residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, which is affiliated with City University of New York.
Dr. Rebecca Castaneda practiced general dentistry in Houston, Texas, before moving to California to attend the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), one of the premier medical institutions in the United States. In 1988, Dr. Rebecca Castaneda finished her specialty training in prosthodontics.
A former Assistant Clinical Professor at UCSF, Dr. Rebecca Castaneda is currently a member of the Program Advisory Committee at Everest College of San Francisco. Appointed Health Commissioner for the City and County of San Francisco from 1992 to 1996, Dr. Rebecca Castaneda served on the Board of Directors for all public hospitals and clinics in San Francisco.
In the last 15 years, Dr. Rebecca Castaneda has also contributed her time and knowledge as an expert witness to numerous dentistry-related legal cases, reviewing records, depositions, and other written materials for the court.
